Eligibility Requirements Essential Educational Requirements: –
With not less than 55% (without rounding off) marks for General (UR)/General-EWS and OBC candidates and 50% (without rounding off) for SC/ST, Third gender, and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates, candidates must have a master’s degree or an equivalent diploma, integrated BS-MS, BS-4 years, BE, B. Tech, B. Pharma, or MBBS.

Candidates who have completed 10+2+3 years of the aforementioned qualifying examination or who are currently enrolled in an M.Sc. programme are also eligible to apply in the aforementioned subject under the Result Awaited (RA) class provided they complete the qualifying degree with the required percentage of marks within two years of the date of the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Test announcement; otherwise, they will be treated as disqualified.
Such candidates must present an attestation form that has been properly authorised by the department or institute where they are displaying or have previously exhibited (Annexure-V).

Applicants who are (UR)/General-EWS and OBC are also eligible to apply, and candidates who are (PwD) or who identify as a third gender are also eligible with 50% of the marks. Only those candidates with a bachelor’s degree who have registered for or enrolled in a Ph.D. or Integrated Ph.D. programme within the program’s two-year validity period are eligible for CSIR fellowships. Candidates with only a bachelor’s degree are only eligible to apply for junior research fellowships (JRF), not for lectureships or assistant professor positions (with out rounding off).
Only candidates who completed their MBBS within the past 12 months or whose results are still pending are eligible to apply for fellowships. These applicants will not be qualified for lectureship or assistant professor positions.
Assistant professor/lectureship. Candidates with a B.Sc. (Hons.) from the previous year or a pending result should not be used.
Specifications of levels (whether Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees or not), as published in UGC’s Gazette Notification No. F. The provisions of 5-1/2013 (CPP-II), dated July 5, 2014, and as periodically revised, shall apply.
Meeting the requirements established by UGC is a requirement for NET qualified applicants seeking a lectureship or assistant professor position. Only Ph.D. holders who received their Master’s degree before September 19, 1991, with at least, are eligible to apply for lectureship/assistant professor positions. ^ (with out rounding off)
Candidates from the Third Gender Class are qualified to receive the same benefits in terms of cost, age, and NET eligibility (i.e., JRF and Assistant Professor) as are available to SC/ST classes. For this class, the subject-specific qualifying cut-offs could be the lowest of these for the corresponding topic’s SC/ ST/ PwD/ OBC-NCL/ General-EWS courses.
